Purpose of Role
Kickstart Childcare is recruiting a Playworker for our out of school club in Stalyhill Junior School, Stalybridge, providing wraparound and holiday club care on a day-to-day basis. The role will involve engaging children aged 5-11 and providing a high-level customer service to children, parents and carers.
Key Responsibilities
1. To engage and play with children aged 5-11
2. To plan, deliver and evaluate sessions and activities for children aged 5-11
3. To work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and colleagues to provide a high level of customer service to children, parents and carers
4. Liaise and communicate with the organisations’ partner school to ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Attend the Local Authority Wraparound Network events, which take place 3 or 4 times per year.
6. Promote the interests of the organisation via social media and other means.
7. Provide an excellence service.
8. To be committed to safeguarding children, following all Company policies and procedures to keep children safe.
9. To be committed to a high standard of food hygiene when preparing food
10. To have a good understanding of Paediatric First Aid
11. To support and work with the Leadership Team to ensure high quality provisions through observations, staff development and regular feedback
12. To perform any other duties as required for the benefit and running of the organisation.
Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential
· Paediatric First Aid Trained (or willing to attend training before appointment)
· Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification (or willing to attend training before appointment)
· Safeguarding Training (or willing to attend training before appointment)
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
· Experience of dealing with customer queries
· Experience of working with children aged 5-11
· Knowledge of Safeguarding
· Committed to CPD and further training in order to increase knowledge
Desirable
· Experience in an out of school club setting

Hours of Work and Salary
22.5 hours per week – 7.30am – 9.00am and 3.00pm – 6.00pm Monday to Friday in term-time. During the school holidays, 22.5 hours will be allocated across longer days between 8am- 6pm.
