Role: Communications and Marketing Support Officer
Location: Based between Colchester Office and Work From Home (to be discussed with successful candidate)

About the Role
Community360 is seeking a creative and proactive Communications and Marketing Support Officer for an initial period of six months. This role will play a vital part in ensuring continuity of our communications activity across the organisation, maintaining strong engagement with staff, volunteers, partners, and the wider community.
The postholder will be pivotal in raising awareness of our programmes, building trust within our communities, and delivering high-quality, impactful communications across a range of platforms. The role will support organisational priorities, contribute to impact reporting and event promotion, and be responsible for helping to execute the 2026 Communications Delivery Plan
Key Responsibilities
Marketing, Communications & Campaigns
- Supporting the delivery of marketing and communications plans aligned with Community360’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
- Create and deliver campaigns that raise awareness, drive engagement, and support organisational objectives.
- Support organisational campaigns, awareness days, and strategic messaging.
Content Creation
- Using Canva produce high-quality, engaging content for newsletters, social media, the website, and other communications materials.
- Help to create compelling stories that highlight the impact of our programmes and feature service users, volunteers, and partners.
- Ensure consistency in tone of voice, branding, and messaging across all channels.
Social Media & Digital Communications
- Plan, create, schedule, publish, and monitor content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Respond to messages and comments where appropriate, escalating issues as required.
- Monitor engagement and performance using basic analytics to inform content planning and grow online presence.
- Help to maintain and update the Community360 website, including keeping the news section current.
Internal Communications & Collaboration
- Support internal communications channels keeping staff and volunteers informed, engaged, and connected.
- Work with internal teams to tell the story of Community360’s work through innovative and inspiring communications.
- Support colleagues across the charity to showcase their projects and promote the impact of Community360’s services.
Events & Community Engagement
- Support the promotion and delivery of events, including pre-event marketing, live content (where required), and post-event communications.
- Coordinate the design and distribution of promotional materials for events.
- Support the charity’s participation in community events to enhance visibility and outreach.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a marketing or communications role.
- Excellent ability in the use of Canva to create imaginative Communications materials
- Strong written communication and content creation skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
- Experience managing social media platforms for an organisation, including scheduling, analytics, and platform best practices.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within limited hours.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and stakeholders.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience in audio or mobile video production and editing.
- Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS), SEO, and optimisation.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or similar internal communications platforms.
- Experience in impact reporting, events communications, or media relations.
- Experience working in community-based or volunteer-led organisations.
