The Role
We're looking for an experienced and adaptable HR Coordinator to join our team to support the HR function across the whole business (approx. 150 employees currently) located around Essex and East London.
As the HR Coordinator, you will support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining a positive work culture, and supporting our managers and teams. In this role, you will act as the key middle person communicating between Peninsula UK (who provide our professional employment law advice) and our managers across all departments, primarily advising them over the phone or from our Head Office.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Policy & Documentation: Maintaining and updating HR policies and employment documentation, fully supported by Peninsula UK (specialist in Employment Law).
Employee Lifecycle: Coordinating the employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
Recruitment Support: Supporting high volume recruitment campaigns across the business.
Process Improvement: Reviewing and updating HR processes including absence reporting, recruitment, and onboarding.
Payroll Input: Inputting hours, bonuses, and overtime into the payroll system ready for processing, working alongside our Finance team.
HRIS & Data Accuracy: Maintaining the HRIS, ensuring employee data is up to date, compliant, and accurate, ensuring full adherence to GDPR compliance across all employee records and helping analyse HR data to inform business decisions.
Training & Development: Coordinating employee e-learning training programs across all departments
Employee Relations: Coordinating employee relations queries and cases (including disciplinary, grievance, attendance, and performance) in direct communication with Peninsula UK.
Manager Advice & Guidance: Providing first-line HR advice to staff and guidance to managers over the phone or in person at Head Office, fully supported by Peninsula UK.
Engagement & Communication: Supporting employee engagement initiatives and internal communications.
Health & Safety Administration: Assisting with general health & safety administration and procedures with third-party support.
Key Qualities / Skills
Exceptional attention to detail and strong accuracy when inputting data and managing records.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to act as a supportive bridge between managers and Peninsula UK.
Solid understanding of employment law and HR best practices (supported by Peninsula UK specialist in Employment Law).
Confident in candidate attraction and recruitment practices for high volume recruitment campaigns.
Able to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism over the phone and in person.
Highly organised with the ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Confident working independently day-to-day.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
Experience Preferred:
At least 2 years in a generalist HR role (essential).
Full UK Driver's License (for occasional site visits if needed).
