WHERE NEXT ASSOCIATIONJob Description – Site Manager – Learning Disabilities

Department: Operations

Reports to: Director of Operations

Responsible for: Deputy Site Manager (where applicable), Support Workers, Apprentices, Volunteers and Students

Salary: Circa £31,000pa

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Fulltime

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire

Purpose of the Role

The Site Manager is responsible for the leadership, management and continuous development of one of Where Next's operational sites, ensuring outstanding, person-centred services are delivered for adults with learning disabilities. The role focuses on leading and developing people, ensuring high standards of performance, compliance, safety and client outcomes.

Leadership and People Management

· Lead, motivate and inspire Support Workers, Deputies, Apprentices and Volunteers.

· Conduct supervision, probation reviews and annual appraisals.

· Manage attendance, wellbeing, capability and performance.

· Support recruitment, induction and retention.

· Promote continuous professional development.

· Create a positive, accountable and inclusive culture.

Client Services

· Ensure outstanding person-centred support.

· Promote independence, choice and dignity.

· Ensure support plans, reviews and risk assessments remain current.

· Champion safeguarding and equality.

Operational Management

· Take responsibility for day-to-day site management.

· Maintain safe, welcoming and professional facilities.

· Manage staffing resources and daily programmes.

· Ensure vehicles, equipment and premises are maintained.

Health, Safety and Compliance

· Lead Health & Safety across the site.

· Ensure compliance with legislation and organisational policies.

· Complete audits, inspections and risk assessments.

· Investigate and report accidents and incidents.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

· Monitor service quality and identify improvements.

· Develop new activities and opportunities.

· Support organisational change and strategic projects.

Financial Responsibilities

· Operate within agreed budgets.

· Follow financial procedures.

· Seek value for money and protect charity assets.

Partnership Working

· Develop positive relationships with clients, families, professionals, commissioners, businesses, volunteers and trustees.

· Represent Where Next professionally at all times.

Person SpecificationQualifications

Essential

· Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Leadership & Management or related discipline (or equivalent experience).

· Full UK Driving Licence.

· First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable

· Level 5 Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards).

· IOSH/NEBOSH, Safeguarding, Mental Health First Aid or relevant horticultural qualification.

Experience

Essential

· Experience managing or supervising staff.

· Experience undertaking supervision and performance management.

· Experience leading teams in care, education, charity or community settings.

· Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities or vulnerable people.

· Experience of safeguarding and compliance.

Desirable

· Managing budgets.

· Leading organisational change.

· Developing new services/projects.

· Charity sector experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities

· Knowledge of person-centred practice, safeguarding, Health & Safety, risk management, GDPR and equality.

· Strong leadership, communication, coaching, organisational and decision-making skills.

· Emotionally intelligent, resilient, accountable, approachable, adaptable and committed to continuous learning.

Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
