Job Title: Nursery Assistant

Permanent: 40 hours per week - Full time

Pay Rate: £12.21

About Us:

Stratford Nursery is the home of nature-based play. We are looking for passionate Nursery Assistant to join their team. With all rooms having free-flow access to woodland gardens, children can fully connect with the great outdoors.

Footsteps Stratford is open from 7.30am - 6:30pm and we require our staff to be able to work varied shift patterns between those times, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

The care and supervision of the children about their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
Working with the Early Years Practitioners on planning and preparation of activities, to meet children’s individual needs, liaising with parents and negotiating working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor always.
Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
Assist with the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
Take part in delivering the highest standards of care throughout the nursery

What do we need from you?

Passion and commitment to working in childcare

- Ability to work shifts between 7.30-6.30pm Monday to Friday working between 25 - 40 hours per week

Commitment to continual development

Requirements

As Nursery Assistant, you will:

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor always.
Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff/child ratios
Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
Observe and support children’s development.
Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

As Nursery Assistant, you will need:

Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential
A passion to work and develop a future career in an Early Years setting.
Experience within an Early Years setting- Desirable
