Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a Barback & Runner. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our hospitality environment, supporting bartenders and serving staff while ensuring guests receive exceptional service. Duties
- Assist bartenders by restocking bar supplies, including glasses, garnishes, and beverages, ensuring the bar remains fully stocked throughout service
- Clear empty glasses and serve drinks to customers as directed by bartenders or servers
- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when required
- Deliver beverages and food orders promptly to tables or designated areas within the venue
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and service areas, including washing glasses and wiping surfaces
- Respond swiftly to guest requests and communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless service
- Assist with setting up and packing down events or busy service periods as needed
- Uphold health and safety standards in all aspects of work, including proper handling of equipment and ingredients
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of kitchen procedures or hotel experience is a plus
- Barista or serving experience will be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills with an ability to work effectively within a team
- Enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and deliver excellent customer service
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
