Production Operative

40 hours, plus overtime and split shifts

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Set in the heart of the Cornish countryside, Callestick Farm Ice Cream is an award winning, family established farm with a proud heritage.

We produce our own milk right here on the farm and turn it into exceptional ice cream enjoyed across Cornwall and beyond.

The Role

This role supports the elements of our ice cream production process.

Working in a team you will support the smooth running of our production facility, working across a variety of stages within the ice cream making process.

This is a practical varied role that sits at the heart of our operation and contributes directly to the quality of our product.

The role would suit someone who:

· Age 18 or above to work in a Factory Environment

· GCSE’s (or equivalent) in English and Maths (minimum grade 4/C or above)

· Previous experience in a food or hospitality environment is a plus

· Values cleanliness, food safety and high standards

· Basic knowledge of food handling, quality controls and production processes or Food Safety Level 2 - or working towards (training provided)

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Flexible attitude, ability to flex with the business needs,

· Enjoys hands on, practical work in a production or factory environment

· Takes pride in being part of a team producing a high-quality, award-winning product

· Is reliable, motivated and happy to support all areas of the production process

· Has good attention to detail and understands the importance of consistency and quality

· Has experience in environmental or factory cleaning and understands the importance of hygiene and food safety (desirable or willing to learn)

· Is comfortable following cleaning schedules procedures and hygiene standards

· Is willing to learn new skills and be trained across multiple stages of production

· Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are quite the same

· Is looking for a stable role within a friendly family run business

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, food safety and quality control are met at all times
Measuring, mixing and freezing ingredients according to recipes and specifications
Learning the pasteurising process
Learning the processes involved in flavour development and batch production
Monitoring of stock levels and raw ingredients
Conducting quality checks on finished products to meet company standards
Undertake any other task as is reasonably required to support the effective operation of the site.
