About the role
We run a premium online programme helping Higher-tier students reach grades 7 to 9 in GCSE Maths and Science. Our lessons are built to a very high, consistent standard so that any strong teacher can pick one up and deliver it well. We're expanding our Science provision and need an outstanding content creator to help us build our AQA GCSE Chemistry course (Combined and Triple).
This is primarily a content-creation role, working from home. You'll take our existing lesson framework and build complete AQA GCSE Chemistry lessons. Each lesson includes the teaching content, related exam questions, homework, and mark schemes, along with clear teaching notes that guide any teacher through delivering the lesson exactly as intended, flagging the key points to emphasise and where students win or lose marks in AQA. Every lesson needs to cover all bases on the AQA specification in a clear, student-friendly way. A big part of this is sourcing the right exam questions for the specific topic being taught, so that students apply what they've just learned directly to exam-style questions and build their technique straight away.
There may also be future opportunities to teach for the right person, if that's something you'd like to do. But the priority is creating brilliant content, quickly and accurately, specifically for AQA GCSE Chemistry.
What we're really looking for
We don't need someone who just knows Chemistry. We need an AQA specialist. Someone who has taught and marked AQA GCSE Science, who knows what AQA repeatedly asks, who knows the phrasing that earns marks in AQA and where students consistently lose them in AQA. If you read AQA examiner reports, or you've marked enough AQA papers to know the mark schemes in your bones, that's exactly the instinct we need.
You'll likely be a strong fit if you:
- Have taught and marked AQA GCSE Science, not only tutored
- Hold a chemistry-related degree (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Natural Sciences, or Science Education)
- Have created teaching content before, such as slides, worksheets, or structured notes
- Are comfortable building content in Word, PowerPoint, and Google Docs, and working within existing templates
- Can work independently to a clear standard and hit deadlines
- Bonus: can also create AQA GCSE Biology content
How to apply
Send an example of AQA GCSE Chemistry or science content you've made. If you don't have one to hand, tell us why you'd be brilliant at creating AQA Science content and what your relevant AQA experience is. Strong applicants will be invited to an interview, followed by a short paid task so we can see your work on our material.
Please note: this role is specifically for the current AQA GCSE Chemistry specification (8462), also taught within Combined Science: Trilogy (8464). If you haven't taught or marked this AQA specification, this role likely isn't the right fit. Thank you, but please don't apply.
