Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ofsted Registered Manager or Deputy Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a care home specialising in Children;s Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a compassionate environment for residents. Previous experience in a regulated care setting is highly desirable. This role offers an excellent opportunity for leadership within a supportive team committed to delivering exceptional care.

Key responsibilities

Setting up a new home in Colchester, Essex and acting as Registered Manager when registration has been completed with Ofsted.
Supporting the Registered Manager and deputising when required, with the effective running of the home in South Ockendon, Essex in the interim.
Leading, supervising and developing the residential care team, including supervisions, rotas and shift leadership
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of Children and young people with EBD, managing risk and responding to challenging behaviour
Overseeing care planning, key working, record-keeping and reporting to a high standard
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements and supporting inspection readiness
Building strong relationships with young people, families, social workers and external professionals

Essential requirements

Proven experience working within an Ofsted-registered children's residential setting, ideally with EBD young people
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent); holding or working towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
Supervisory or senior experience within children's residential care
Sound knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding and the Quality Standards
Right to work in the UK (please note: sponsorship is not available for this role)
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Full UK driving licence (ideal but not a deal breaker)

Desirable

Experience supporting a home through Ofsted inspection
Therapeutic care training (e.g. trauma-informed practice, de-escalation)

This role is ideal for a motivated professional committed to delivering outstanding standards of children's care within a regulated environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in creating a safe, respectful, and enriching environment for all residents while leading a dedicated team of carers.

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
