Description

As the Group continues to scale, we are establishing a permanent procurement function to support commercial performance, supplier governance and operational consistency across the business.

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Analyst to support a major transformation programme, consolidating multiple accountancy firms into a centralised Microsoft Azure environment.

This role will play a key part in migrating diverse legacy infrastructures (including on-premises and existing cloud estates) into a unified, secure, and scalable Azure platform. The contractor will work closely with internal IT teams, third-party vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient transitions.

Key Responsibilities

Support the migration of infrastructure, systems, and services into Azure
Assess and document existing environments (on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-based)
Design and implement migration strategies (lift-and-shift, replatforming, or modernisation)
Ensure security, compliance, and governance standards are maintained throughout
Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues
Collaborate with project managers to track progress and manage risks
Produce clear technical documentation and handover materials
Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams post-migration

Execute migrations of:

Servers and virtual machines
Active Directory / Azure AD (Entra ID)
File services and storage
Line-of-business applications
Support tenant consolidation and identity integration across multiple entities

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including:

Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage
Azure Migrate and related tooling
Azure AD / Entra ID, identity management, and hybrid identity
Proven experience delivering infrastructure migration or transformation projects

Experience migrating from:

On-premises environments (VMware / Hyper-V)
Existing cloud platforms (Azure / AWS)

Solid understanding of:

Networking (VPNs, firewalls, routing)
Security best practices in cloud environments
Backup and disaster recovery solutions
Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant migrations

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience within professional services or accountancy firms
Familiarity with accountancy platforms such as CCH & IRIS
Azure Landing Zones
Infrastructure as Code (e.g. ARM, Bicep, Terraform)
Endpoint management (Intune)
Data migration tools and strategies
