Job Overview
NTCI are seeking a talented and innovative Live Ops Narrative Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting compelling storylines and engaging narratives that enhance live operations across multiple platforms, including Android and iOS. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in software development, narrative design, and experience with various development tools and engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging narrative content for live game events, ensuring consistency with overall story arcs and player engagement strategies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including game designers, developers, artists, and QA to integrate narrative elements seamlessly into live operations.
- Utilise APIs, SDKs, and other software tools to create dynamic storytelling experiences that respond to player actions and game states.
- Design and maintain test cases to ensure narrative features function correctly across different devices and platforms.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator) alongside 3D modelling tools like Maya or SketchUp to produce visual assets supporting narrative content.
- Manage version control systems such as SVN, GitHub, or Perforce to track changes and collaborate effectively within development pipelines.
- Debug issues related to narrative scripting or integration using Visual Studio, Shell Scripting, or other debugging tools.
- Contribute to the optimisation of front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks like React or Bootstrap for web-based components.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative storytelling ideas that enhance user experience (UX) during live events.
Experience
- Proven experience in narrative design within interactive entertainment or gaming industries, preferably with live service games.
- Strong technical background with proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, JavaScript, Python, PHP, or Java.
- Familiarity with game engines including Unity and Unreal Engine is essential; knowledge of SDKs and RESTful APIs is highly desirable.
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or SQL Server; understanding of cloud services like AWS is advantageous.
- Skilled in using project management tools such as Jira or Trello for task organisation and workflow management.
- Knowledge of software development practices including OOP principles, MVC architecture, debugging techniques, and test case creation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with the capacity to translate creative ideas into technical specifications suitable for development teams.
