The role
We are looking for a junior developer who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving problems and wants to become a capable technical all-rounder.
You will develop your skills across front-end and back-end development, databases and integrations. You will also investigate customer queries, support new customer onboarding and help deliver practical solutions to real business requirements.
You will work alongside other team members and customers and you will be expected to put the customer first at all times. This means understanding what the customer is trying to achieve, communicating clearly and taking ownership of work through to a complete resolution.
Commercial experience is not essential. We welcome applications from graduates, junior developers and self-taught candidates who can demonstrate practical project experience and a willingness to learn.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and test front-end and back-end functionality.
- Build user interfaces using Razor, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
- Contribute to back-end development using C#.
- Create database queries and functionality using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Help build, maintain and troubleshoot APIs and integrations.
- Investigate customer queries and identify the underlying causes of issues.
- Communicate with customers to understand their requirements and provide clear updates.
- Support the technical configuration and onboarding of new customers.
- Assist with product, customer, pricing and other data imports.
- Test changes thoroughly to ensure they resolve the original issue without creating new problems.
- Produce clear test evidence, release notes and customer guidance.
- Take ownership of work through development, testing, release and customer communication.
- Use AI-assisted tools appropriately to support development, testing and investigation.
Skills and qualities
We are looking for someone with:
- A genuine interest in front-end and back-end development.
- Practical experience building a web application or similar solution.
- An understanding of C#, Razor and JavaScript, or comparable technologies.
- Experience using HTML and CSS to build responsive user interfaces.
- An understanding of relational databases, database design and SQL queries.
- Experience connecting front-end functionality to back-end application logic and a database.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Confidence working directly with customers.
- A customer-first approach and an interest in understanding business requirements.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to testing.
- The ability to take ownership, manage priorities and complete work.
- A positive attitude towards learning, feedback and asking for help.
- The ability to work full-time from our Bridgend office.
Experience with C#, Razor, SQL Server, APIs, Git or Azure DevOps would be beneficial but is not essential.
Examples of your work
Commercial development experience is not required, but applicants must provide examples of projects completed through education, placements, employment or personal development.
Your examples should demonstrate:
- Front-end and back-end development.
- Database functionality.
- How the different parts of the application work together.
- Your personal contribution and the problems you solved.
Examples may include a portfolio, GitHub repository, live application or coursework.
