About Us
iCede Solutions is a growing software business based in Liverpool. We build and support technology platforms used by global insurers to manage complex policy, claims and reporting processes.
We are looking for a thoughtful and analytical System Analyst / Tester to help us maintain high standards of quality, reliability and customer support as our platform continues to develop.
The Role
This is a varied role combining manual functional testing, regression testing, issue investigation and customer support.
You will need to understand how the system is intended to work, follow business rules and workflows through the platform, identify where functionality does not behave as expected, and clearly explain issues to developers, analysts, QA colleagues and customers.
The role is about more than checking screens or spotting text errors. You will need to think logically, question outcomes, investigate problems and understand the impact of defects on wider workflows, reporting and customer use.
You will also assist with our support helpdesk by reviewing customer queries, reproducing reported issues, gathering relevant information and liaising with technical colleagues and customers to support timely resolution.
Full training on the iCede platform will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out manual functional and regression testing.
· Test new and amended functionality against requirements and business rules.
· Review requirements, release notes and system changes to identify areas requiring testing.
· Log, investigate and document defects clearly.
· Assess the impact of issues on wider workflows, reporting and customer use.
· Assist with customer support tickets, including triage, investigation and updates.
· Reproduce customer-reported issues and document findings.
· Liaise with developers, analysts, QA colleagues and customers.
· Help maintain test cases, support records and training documentation.
· Re-test fixes and confirm issues have been resolved.
· Escalate unclear requirements, blocked testing or potential risks promptly.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is analytical, curious, organised and customer-focused. You should be comfortable learning software systems, working through problems logically, documenting issues clearly and communicating professionally with both colleagues and customers.
You will need to be detail-oriented, but also able to recognise when an issue may have a wider functional or customer impact.
Essential Criteria
· GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
· Strong written English and clear communication skills.
· Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
· Ability to understand processes, workflows and cause-and-effect across a system.
· Comfortable using software systems and learning new technology.
· Confidence communicating with customers and colleagues professionally.
· Right to work in the UK.
· Within reasonable commuting distance of Liverpool City Centre, L3.
Desirable Criteria
· Degree in any discipline.
· Previous experience in software testing, QA, IT support, or customer support.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a short practical testing and support exercise. Prior knowledge of the iCede platform is not required.
