Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable General Car Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle issues to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and a passion for vehicle maintenance. The position is paid and suitable for both experienced professionals and those seeking to develop their skills in a dynamic workshop environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and mechanical knowledge to identify faults in vehicles.
Perform repairs and maintenance on various car models, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks efficiently.
Follow technical manuals and schematics to ensure accurate repairs and assemblies.
Assist with equipment repair and maintenance to uphold workshop safety standards.
Carry out heavy lifting of vehicle components or parts as required, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair work clearly and addressing client concerns professionally.
Maintain a clean, organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency within the workshop environment.

Skills

Strong understanding of schematics and mechanical systems within vehicles.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for various repair tasks.
Solid mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle assembly and maintenance.
Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams accurately.
Experience in equipment repair and general workshop maintenance.
Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and working in physically demanding environments.
