Full job description

MCM Cleaning Solutions is a fast-growing, SSIP-accredited specialist cleaning contractor working across construction, industrial, wind farm, and domestic sectors. We're looking for a sharp, organised Bookkeeper/Administrator to join our small but busy team.

What you'll be doing:

Maintaining accurate financial records on Xero, processing and submitting applications for payment, certifying incoming payments, preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns, and reconciling accounts. On the admin side you'll be managing client and supplier correspondence, maintaining digital records and SharePoint filing, supporting tender administration, processing staff timesheets, managing compliance documentation, handling day-to-day communications across email and Microsoft Teams, and providing direct support to the directors to keep the business running efficiently.

What we need from you:

Xero experience is essential. You must have hands-on experience preparing and processing applications for payment, payment certification, and quarterly VAT returns within a construction or contractor environment. Strong Microsoft 365 skills are required, including SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams. You'll be confident managing multiple priorities at once, comfortable in a fast-paced SME, and the kind of person who spots a problem before it becomes one.
