Thimbleby Estate is entering an exciting new phase of growth, with new commercial ventures, developments and opportunities emerging across the business.
We're looking for a creative, proactive and commercially minded Digital Content & Marketing Specialist to help elevate our online presence and tell the story of the Estate across multiple digital channels.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced freelancer who enjoys creating engaging content, developing marketing campaigns and turning ideas into measurable results. Working closely with the Commercial Director, you'll have the freedom to bring fresh thinking, challenge convention and make a genuine impact on a unique and diverse business.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for managing and developing digital content across the Estate's websites, social media channels and customer communications, ensuring our brand remains engaging, relevant and commercially effective.
The role is varied and hands-on, supporting activity across hospitality, retail, food and drink, events, outdoor leisure activities, holiday accommodation and new commercial ventures.
Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite Management & Digital Content
- Manage and maintain content across all Estate websites
- Ensure websites remain accurate, engaging and up to date
- Create compelling copy for website updates and future developments
- Support the development of new digital projects, including a members' portal
- Ensure photography, imagery and written content remain current and aligned with brand standards
Social Media & Content Creation
- Create and deliver engaging content across social media platforms
- Develop content calendars and marketing plans alongside the Commercial Director
- Increase audience engagement and grow online communities
- Capture and coordinate photography and video content
- Use Canva to create high-quality visual content
- Stay ahead of digital trends and identify new opportunities
Email Marketing & Campaigns
- Plan and deliver newsletters, e-shots and customer communications
- Coordinate digital campaigns from concept through to delivery
- Monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Support promotional activity across the wider business
Reporting & Insights
- Monitor website, social media and campaign performance
- Analyse audience behaviour and engagement trends
- Produce reports and recommendations to support decision-making
- Use data and insights to shape future content and marketing activity
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines creativity with commercial awareness and enjoys working independently while collaborating closely with key stakeholders.
You will have:
- Proven experience managing websites and digital content
- Strong social media management and content creation experience
- Experience planning and delivering successful marketing campaigns
- Familiarity with CRM and email marketing platforms
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills
- Confidence using Canva and creating visual content
- Experience interpreting digital analytics and reporting performance
- Excellent organisational and project management skills
- Strong IT skills, including Google Workspace
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- A proactive, self-motivated and solutions-focused approach
Working Arrangement
- Freelance consultancy agreement
- 16 hours per week (initially 2 days per week)
- Approximately 50% onsite at Thimbleby Estate
- Flexibility to attend events, competitions and content opportunities as required
- Availability to support important or urgent communications when necessary
