The Business Development & Partnerships Executive will support the continued growth of the business by helping to build and maintain a strong pipeline of employer and charity opportunities, supporting client relationships, managing CRM activity, coordinating campaign support and producing meaningful reporting for business development and Board-level decision-making.
This is a development role with genuine progression potential. It would suit someone who is commercially aware, highly organised, confident with stakeholders and keen to grow into a future business development, account management and senior leadership role.
The role has been designed to support activity across employer engagement, charity business development, marketing delivery, CRM ownership, pipeline reporting, campaign coordination and commercial administration.
Key responsibilities
1. Business development and lead generation
- Support the development and management of a strong pipeline of employer and charity opportunities.
- Research potential employer prospects, including organisations likely to be receptive to payroll giving.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain accurate contact lists for HR, CSR, payroll and charity contacts.
- Support introductory outreach activity, including emails, briefing notes and follow-up communications.
- Prepare supporting materials for business development meetings, including case studies, impact information and tailored employer packs.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure business development activity is organised, timely and well documented.
2. Employer and charity engagement
- Support relationships with employer clients, particularly organisations with 1,000 employees and under.
- Help maintain regular contact with employer partners, ensuring they receive timely reminders, updates and campaign support.
- Support charity business development activity, helping to identify opportunities for collaboration and growth.
- Prepare communications for existing clients, including reminders, meeting follow-ups and support emails.
- Help clients understand available payroll giving support, campaign options and engagement resources.
- Liaise with employers, charities, payroll contacts and colleagues to resolve queries and keep activity moving.
3. Account management and relationship support
- Support the management of selected employer and charity accounts.
- Maintain strong, professional and helpful relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare quarterly, annual or campaign-related impact updates for clients.
- Support issue resolution by liaising with payroll teams, agencies and internal colleagues.
- Identify opportunities to improve client experience and increase payroll giving engagement.
- Support the development of account plans for key or high-potential clients.
4. CRM, data and reporting
- Take day-to-day responsibility for maintaining accurate CRM records.
- Ensure all leads, opportunities, follow-ups, client interactions and pipeline stages are recorded clearly.
- Produce regular pipeline, lead generation and business development reports.
- Prepare papers and updates for business development calls.
- Support reporting for the CEO, senior team and Board.
- Use CRM and data insights to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Help improve the consistency, quality and usefulness of CRM information across the business.
5. Campaign and marketing support
- Work with colleagues to support delivery of the marketing strategy.
- Assist with campaign planning and coordination for employers and charity partners.
- Support the creation and management of campaign artwork and materials.
- Draft employee-facing and client-facing content, including FAQs, posters, intranet copy, launch communications, newsletters and case studies.
- Support webinars, workplace presentations, employer events and charity engagement activity.
- Help ensure campaign materials are accurate, on brand and delivered on time.
6. Contract and commercial support
- Develop an understanding of employer and charity contracts.
- Support the review of standard contract terms, escalating complex or higher-risk points for senior review.
- Assist with preparation for contract discussions and negotiations.
- Build commercial awareness around service commitments, pricing, client expectations and operational requirements.
- Help ensure contract-related information is recorded and managed appropriately.
7. Programme setup and administration
- Support employers through the setup and onboarding process.
- Coordinate information between employers, agencies, payroll teams and charity partners.
- Maintain accurate records of client status, launch dates, activity and participation information.
- Support the creation of practical resources to help employees understand payroll giving.
- Help improve onboarding processes and identify ways to make setup smoother for clients.
8. Internal coordination and process improvement
- Support the smooth running of business development, marketing and client engagement activity.
- Prepare summaries of leads, progress, risks and next steps.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, CRM use and client support.
- Bring practical solutions and suggestions to help the business work more efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to support shared priorities.

Development opportunity
This role is intended to grow with the individual. In the early stages, the postholder will focus on building strong product knowledge, CRM discipline, lead generation skills, account support experience and confidence in client-facing activity.
As they develop, they will be expected to take greater ownership of employer and charity relationships, support or lead defined business development activity, contribute to commercial planning, support contract discussions and help coordinate elements of the wider team.
Longer term, the role could develop into a business development manager position and potentially into a senior leadership role, depending on performance, business need and the individual’s development.
Stage 1: Foundation
CRM, lead generation, campaign support, account administration and product knowledge.

Pay: From £23,915.00 per year
