Are you passionate about supporting families and making a positive difference in the lives of children?

My client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Practitioner to work directly with families, helping them develop the skills, confidence, and support networks needed to create safe, nurturing home environments.

The Role

As a Family Practitioner, you will work alongside families, professionals, and partner agencies to promote the welfare and safety of children. You will provide practical support, guidance, and interventions designed to improve outcomes for children and strengthen family relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Work directly with families in their homes and local communities.
Observe and assess family interactions and home environments.
Support parents in developing effective parenting skills and strategies.
Deliver tailored parenting interventions and guidance.
Build positive, professional relationships with children, parents, and carers.
Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, social workers, and other agencies.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and case notes.
Contribute to safeguarding processes and ensure the welfare of children remains paramount.
Monitor progress against agreed support plans and outcomes.

Essential Requirements

Relevant qualification in Children’s Services, Family Support, Social Care, Youth Work, Early Years, Education, or a related field (Level 3 or above).
Experience working with children, young people, and families.
Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build trust and engage positively with families from diverse backgrounds.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Current DBS check
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if required for the role).

Desirable

Experience delivering parenting programmes or family interventions.
Knowledge of multi-agency working and early help frameworks.
Relevant safeguarding training.
Experience of writing assessments and support plans.

The successful candidate will be empathetic, resilient, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families. You will be confident working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.

Pay: From £16.00 per hour
