Job Title: Podiatrist

Location: Sports Physio UK, United Kingdom

Employment Type: Sub-Contractor Saturdays]

Salary: 50% of earnings

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Podiatrist to join our team in Shaw, Oldham.

As a Podiatrist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions of the foot, ankle, and lower extremities.

You will work closely with patients of all ages to help them maintain optimal foot health, prevent injury, and manage chronic conditions.

This role requires a professional who is dedicated to patient care, has strong communication skills, and is committed to continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Assessments and Diagnosis:
Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ feet, ankles, and lower legs.
Diagnose foot and lower limb conditions, such as bunions, ingrown toenails, heel pain, and diabetic foot complications.
Use diagnostic tools, gait analysis, and other podiatric instruments.
Treatment and Care Management:
Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Provide treatments such as nail surgery, orthotic prescription, wound care, and callus removal.
Offer advice on foot health, hygiene, and footwear.
Prescribe and fit orthotics, insoles, and other podiatric devices to correct biomechanical issues.
Manage long-term conditions like diabetes and arthritis, focusing on preventing complications and maintaining mobility.
Patient Education and Advice:
Educate patients on self-care techniques and preventive measures to avoid foot problems.
Provide lifestyle advice related to diet, exercise, and foot care to improve overall health and well-being.
Collaboration and Referral:
Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, and physiotherapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
Refer patients to specialists for further treatment when necessary.
Record Keeping and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Ensure that all clinical practices adhere to relevant legislation, professional standards, and guidelines set by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the College of Podiatry.
Professional Development:
Stay informed about the latest advancements in podiatry through continuous professional development (CPD).
Participate in training sessions, conferences, and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:
A BSc in Podiatry.
Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Clinical experience in a podiatric setting.
Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills.
Desirable:
Experience in specialised areas such as diabetic foot care, sports podiatry, or paediatric podiatry.
Proficiency in the use of modern diagnostic tools and techniques.
Membership in the College of Podiatry.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy and a caring approach to patient care.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good organisational and time-management skills.

Working Hours:

Saturday 09:00 - 15:00
Total: 6 Hour
