Material Handler
About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and reliable Material Handler to join their manufacturing team on a rotating three-shift pattern. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring the continuous supply of materials to production, maintaining high housekeeping standards, supporting operational efficiency, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all production machines are supplied with sufficient material throughout each shift to maintain uninterrupted production.
- Work closely with Setters to understand shift priorities and production requirements.
- Prepare materials for upcoming shifts, ensuring dryers and material storage areas are fully stocked and organised.
- Manage granulation activities, including cleaning granulators, removing blockages, and maintaining a tidy granulation area.
- Maintain material storage areas, ensuring stock is correctly located, labelled, and managed using a first-in, first-out (FIFO) approach.
- Promote the effective use of regrind materials wherever possible.
- Complete dryer and loader clean-downs following production runs and support material preparation for future jobs.
- Return all completed job materials to designated storage locations.
- Conduct weekly dryer and loader maintenance checks in accordance with site procedures.
Additional Duties
When operational demands allow, you may also be required to:
- Carry out quality and inspection checks in line with company procedures.
- Operate production machinery when required and appropriately trained.
- Provide support to warehouse operations during periods of absence or increased workload.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or material handling environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
- Commitment to health, safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) experience is advantageous.
Working Hours
Rotating 3-shift pattern:
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- 10:00pm – 6:00am
