Overview:

We are seeking a qualified Bank Staff member to join our team in providing excellent childcare services. The ideal candidate will hold a level 2 or 3 qualification and have a passion for working with children, possess strong communication skills, and be able to manage various tasks efficiently.

Barn Owls preschool - Bank staff

Hourly Rate: £12 .75 per hour

Location: Shirley, Southampton

Working as a qualified Bank Staff Member within our preschool you will have the security and benefits of being an employee but with flexibility to work when you want!

We are small and friendly preschool with a homely feel. If you’re looking for a flexible working role, where you can have fun, get messy, be creative and help our children to develop – a Bank staff role with Barn Owls preschool would be a perfect fit for you.

You must be able to show initiative and creativity to encourage an environment where young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

A good knowledge of the EYFS is desirable but not essential as full training will be given and you must have a childcare qualification such as NVQ/CACHE level 3 or higher.

Previous experience working with children (Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, Early Years Educator, Nanny, Childminder or similar) is essential for this role.

Candidates are required to be flexible and adaptable

What you’ll be doing

Support colleagues with their delivery of the EYFS, by engaging children in entertaining and educational play and activities, encouraging their development towards key milestones, and ensuring their safety throughout the day
Work as part of a team to ensure all day-to-day tasks are completed in line with the preschool schedule i.e. hygiene & safety standards and room preparation
Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment
