About Us

Granada Secondary Glazing is a leading name in secondary glazing solutions, committed to delivering premium-quality products and exceptional service. As a Manufacturing Operative, you will play a key role in producing our bespoke secondary glazing units. This hands-on role is ideal for someone flexible and willing to move across different areas of the factory to support the wider manufacturing team.

Role Overview

Working as part of a busy production team, you will be involved in all stages of the manufacturing process—from cutting and assembly through to quality control and packaging. You will rotate across different sections to develop multi-skilled capability and ensure continuous production support.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly & Production

Assemble secondary glazing units, including aluminium frame construction and glazing installation.
Fit glass or plastic panes securely into frames.
Apply seals and gaskets to ensure airtight, high-quality finished units.

Cutting, Shaping & Machinery

Operate wood and metal saws, CNC machinery, and glazing equipment.
Cut and shape materials accurately to specification.
Use handheld and powered tools to secure hardware and components.
Operate self-standing window fabrication machinery.

Production Areas

Work across multiple factory sections including milling, powder coating, assembly, glazing, and wrapping.
Rotate between sections to build multi-skilled capability and provide cover for absences.

Quality Control

Inspect products throughout production to ensure a high-quality standard from build to packaging.
Identify defects such as incorrect dimensions, poor sealing, or damage.

Material Handling & Packaging

Handle materials safely and efficiently within the factory.
Package finished units securely to prevent damage during transportation.

Health, Safety & Compliance

Adhere to all organisational policies, standard operating procedures, and management systems.
Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements.
Maintain a safe working environment and use appropriate PPE at all times.

Teamwork & Culture

Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors.
Contribute to a positive working environment built on respect and professionalism.

Skills and Requirements

Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
Experience in the window or glass industry (advantageous but not essential).
Experience using handheld and powered tools (essential).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Good understanding of health and safety practices.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods and handle materials.

Work Environment & Hours

Factory-based role located in Dinnington.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm.
The role involves working with glass, metal, and machinery in a potentially noisy environment.
All applicants must live within a commutable distance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
