The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Operating Department Practitioner (Anaesthetics) to join our theatre team.
Working alongside leading consultants, anaesthetists and experienced theatre professionals, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients throughout the perioperative journey, ensuring safe, efficient and compassionate care before, during and immediately after anaesthesia.
This is an excellent opportunity to work across a variety of elective surgical specialties, develop your existing skills and gain experience with advanced surgical techniques in a supportive independent hospital.
Key Responsibilities
As an Anaesthetic ODP, you will:
- Deliver safe, high-quality anaesthetic care throughout the perioperative pathway.
- Prepare and check anaesthetic equipment and medications.
- Assist the Anaesthetist during induction, maintenance and recovery from anaesthesia.
- Monitor patients throughout the anaesthetic phase, responding promptly to changes in condition.
- Maintain a safe, clean and compliant theatre environment.
- Work collaboratively with Consultants, Anaesthetists, Scrub Practitioners, Recovery Practitioners and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Act as an advocate for patient safety, dignity and excellent clinical care.
- Contribute to quality improvement and support the delivery of outstanding patient outcomes.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner.
- Educated to Degree level (or equivalent).
- Has at least 3 years' recent experience in Anaesthetics.
- Demonstrates excellent clinical knowledge and attention to detail.
- Calm, organised and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Committed to continuous professional development.

Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role you must:
- Hold current HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner.
- Have a minimum of 3 years' recent Anaesthetic ODP experience within a UK operating theatre.
- Have the unrestricted right to work in the UK.
- Be committed to delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centred care.
