About us:

Camera Security Services is based in Chippenham, providing integrated security solutions to companies, local authorities, councils, schools, and individuals across the country. We specialise in CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, fire safety and remote CCTV monitoring. We have a national client base.

We pride ourselves on the people who work for us and are seeking enthusiastic and attentive Control room Operator to join our well established (20+ years) and growing organisation.

Your duties:

Telephone and computer operation; handling CCTV activations; dealing with the emergency services when required; decision making; incident reports; working with MS office programmes; intercom call handling; amongst other things.

We operate within set procedures using specially designed computer software, and full training will be given.

Your qualities:

- Be able to work well as part of a team and on your own

- Be willing and able to work night shifts (20:00 - 08:00)

- Shift rotation, averaging 42 hours per week, per year (4 nights on shift, 4 nights off shift)

- Be confident and able to communicate well with others.

- Will possess good written and spoken customer service skills

- Be friendly and approachable.

- Be highly motivated and willing to learn new things.

- Can pay attention to detail and focus for long periods of time.

- Enthusiastic, energetic, and punctual.

- Be a good listener and have patience.

- Be organised, able to multi-task whilst maintaining accuracy.

- Be prepared to provide on-call support (Varies each month, depending on holiday across the team).

Benefits on offer to the successful candidate:

- 20 Days annual leave (increasing yearly up to 25 days) + Bank Holidays (or time in lieu)

- Overtime available (at a rate of x1.0)

- On-call standby standard payment (£15.00 per shift)

- On-call attendance payment (at a rate of x1.5)

Please be aware that this position is set to start at the end of August 2026 (date to be confirmed).

A basic DBS check and a 5-year employment history check will be required as part of the role due to the nature of work undertaken.
