J*We are looking for an experienced and versatile CAD, CNC Programming & Designer* to join our manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in sheet-metal manufacturing, with practical experience using AutoCAD, Radan and Salvagnini programming systems. Experience with Autodesk Inventor would be a significant advantage.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can work independently, solve problems, support production and adapt to changing priorities. A positive can-do attitude, flexibility and willingness to get involved are essential
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate engineering drawings and manufacturing information using AutoCAD.
- Develop and modify CNC programmes using Radan.
- Programme Salvagnini machinery for sheet-metal cutting and forming.
- Design and develop sheet-metal components and manufacturing solutions.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and customer requirements.
- Prepare production-ready CAD files, drawings and CNC programmes.
- Optimise nesting and material utilisation to reduce waste and manufacturing costs.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Planning teams.
- Provide technical support to machine operators and production personnel.
- Troubleshoot CAD, programming and manufacturing issues.
- Improve existing programmes, efficiency, quality and cycle times.
- Support new product introduction, prototypes, trials and process development.
- Maintain accurate and controlled drawings, programmes and technical documentation.
- Support continuous improvement and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
Skills
- Previous experience within a sheet-metal manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience using AutoCAD.
- Strong practical experience with Radan CAD/CAM.
- Experience with Salvagnini programming.
- Good understanding of sheet-metal manufacturing processes.
- Experience with laser cutting, punching, folding/forming or related processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good understanding of materials, tolerances and manufacturing requirements.
- Strong practical problem-solving ability.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good computer skills and ability to learn new software and systems.
Desirable Experience
- Autodesk Inventor and 3D sheet-metal modelling.
- Other CAD/CAM systems.
- CNC laser, punching or press-brake programming.
- Salvagnini automation and manufacturing systems.
- Sheet-metal tooling and forming.
- GD&T and engineering tolerances.
- Nesting and material optimisation.
- ISO 9001 quality systems.
- CNC machine-setting or shop-floor experience.
- Automotive, aerospace or general engineering experience.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet-metal manufacturing, combining CAD design and CNC programming skills with practical shop-floor knowledge.
You will be capable of taking a component from drawing/design through to CNC programming and manufacture, understanding the practical limitations of sheet metal and identifying efficient manufacturing solutions.
Experience across AutoCAD, Radan and Salvagnini programming is highly desirable, with Autodesk Inventor experience being an advantage.
Qualifications
- Engineering, CAD/CAM or manufacturing qualification preferred.
- Relevant apprenticeship or technical qualification advantageous.
- Equivalent practical industry experience will be considered.
- Relevant CNC, sheet-metal or engineering qualifications beneficial.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
