Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fencer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of fencing across diverse sites. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. The position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within the construction industry while contributing to high-quality fencing projects.
Duties
- Measure and mark out fencing lines according to project specifications
- Install different types of fencing including wooden, metal, and wire fences
- Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, and post drivers to assemble and secure fencing components
- Repair or replace damaged fencing sections as needed
- Assist with site preparation including ground clearance and setting foundations
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, masons, or electricians on site when necessary
- Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a secure working environment
- Maintain equipment and ensure tools are in good working order
Skills
- Proven experience in fencing installation or related construction trades
- Strong knowledge of carpentry, masonry, roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and fabrication is advantageous
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and project plans
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks including lifting and working at heights if required
- Excellent teamwork skills alongside the ability to work independently when necessary
