Overview
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Picker/Packer/Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse team. This role involves handling materials, preparing orders for dispatch, and maintaining efficient stock management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and experience in warehouse operations. Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack items according to order specifications, ensuring correct quantities and product integrity
- Handle materials safely using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Load and unload goods from lorries, ensuring items are stored securely and efficiently within the warehouse
- Operate warehouse management systems to track stock levels, update inventory records, and process shipments
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing documentation and coordinating with couriers
- Stock shelves and organise products to optimise space utilisation and facilitate easy access for picking tasks
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards before dispatch
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Ability to operate forklift trucks (certification preferred but not mandatory)
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and load handling throughout shifts
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse is a plus
- Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail for accurate order fulfilment
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by operational demands
