About the Role

Rand Logistics Group Ltd is looking for a highly organised and proactive Operations Assistant to support the Company Directors and wider operations team within a fast-growing logistics business.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining logistics coordination, transport administration, and PA responsibilities. The successful candidate must be confident working independently, taking ownership of tasks and solving problems with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Screen calls, emails and enquiries, prioritising and responding where appropriate
Prepare documents, reports, spreadsheets and meeting notes for the management team
Support the day-to-day running of the logistics and transport operation, liaising with drivers and, warehouse staff, customers and suppliers
Assist with booking deliveries, collections, container movements, warehouse operations and subcontract transport
Assist with maintaining accurate transport records including driver files, vehicle maintenance logs, compliance documentation, PODs and KPI reporting
Raise purchase orders, process invoices and assist with basic accounts administration
Support driver recruitment, onboarding, inductions and training administration
Handle confidential administration and sensitive company matters with discretion

About You

Essential:

Previous experience in an administration, operations, or assistant role
Excellent organisational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and use initiative
Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional and confident at all levels
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Calm under pressure with a proactive, positive attitude

Desirable:

Background in logistics, transport, warehousing or a similar operational environment
Knowledge of UK road freight operations and transport compliance
Familiarity with logistics, transport or fleet management systems
