We are a fast-growing, dynamic waste management and skip hire company operating a busy waste transfer station in Barton-le-Clay. We pride ourselves on efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility. As our operations expand, we are looking for a reliable, highly skilled machine operator to join our team.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced 360 Excavator Driver specifically with selector grapple experience within the waste industry. You will be operating heavy plant machinery to safely sort, stack, and process incoming waste materials from our skip fleet.
This is a fast-paced environment that requires sharp attention to detail and a strong focus on site safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Safely operate a 360 excavator equipped with a selector grapple.
- Waste Sorting: Efficiently sort and segregate mixed waste streams (construction, commercial, and domestic) to maximise recycling rates.
- Loading & Stockpiling: Load processing plant, shredders, and outgoing bulk vehicles while maintaining organised material stockpiles.
- Safety & Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-use vehicle inspections, report defects, and ensure the machine is kept in good working order.
- Site Collaboration: Work closely with the yard team, skip drivers, and site management to maintain a smooth, safe working environment.
What You Will Need
- Experience: Proven history operating a 360 excavator specifically with a selector grapple attachment within a waste transfer station or recycling environment.
- Qualifications: Valid NPORS or CPCS 360 Excavator ticket.
- Industry Knowledge: Good understanding of different waste types and segregation practices.
- Reliability: Excellent timekeeping and a strong work ethic to match our Monday to Friday (7am–4pm) schedule.
- Safety Conscious: A strict commitment to health and safety procedures in a busy yard environment.
