Full job description

Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Selly Oak for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across both EYFS and Key Stage 2.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with class teachers to support learning, help pupils reach their full potential, and contribute to a positive and engaging classroom environment. The successful candidate will be flexible and confident working with children of different ages, adapting their approach to meet the needs of individual learners.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS and KS2 classes.
Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation.
Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting pupil engagement.
Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Assisting with observations, assessments and record keeping where required.
Supporting children during lessons, playtimes and other school activities.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, adaptable and passionate about supporting children's development.

The successful candidate will:

Have previous experience working with primary-aged children, ideally across different year groups.
Be confident supporting pupils in both EYFS and KS2 settings.
Have a good understanding of child development and learning.
Be patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Be proactive, organised and willing to take initiative.
Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
