Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee Vacuum Cleaner Repair Technician to join our service and repair team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop practical engineering and technical skills within a specialist repair environment.

Full training will be provided. The successful candidate will learn how to diagnose, service, maintain, and repair a wide range of domestic and commercial vacuum cleaners and floorcare equipment.

Duties

Assist experienced technicians with the diagnosis and repair of vacuum cleaners and related appliances.
Learn to identify mechanical, electrical, and performance faults.
Carry out routine servicing and maintenance work.
Replace defective parts and components using approved procedures.
Test repaired equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
Maintain accurate repair records and job documentation.
Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
Manage stock and assist with ordering spare parts when required.
Provide professional and courteous customer service.
Assist with sales and customer queries when required.

Requirements (Essential)

Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
Good practical and mechanical aptitude.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Basic computer literacy.

Requirements (Desirable)

Previous experience in appliance repair, engineering, maintenance, or a hands-on technical role.
Knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems.
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics, English, and a technical subject.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
