Accounts & Audit Junior

We are expanding our Bedford office and are searching for an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts and Audit Junior to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual wishing to continue their professional journey in audit and accounts, working within a dynamic, supportive, and growing environment.

Accounts and Audit Junior Opportunity

As an Accounts and Audit and Junior, you will receive comprehensive training and practical experience while supporting our audit and accounts teams across a diverse portfolio of clients. You will be involved in all aspects of audit and accounts preparation while working alongside experienced professionals who are dedicated to your development.

Main Responsibilities and Key Duties

Assisting with the planning and delivery of external audits for a range of clients under the supervision of senior colleagues.
Supporting preparation of financial statements in compliance with UK accounting standards and company law.
Undertaking testing procedures and documenting results to support audit opinions.
Carrying out bookkeeping and financial analysis under guidance.
Working with our experienced team on client queries and helping to offer tailored solutions.
Building your knowledge of relevant accounting systems and software used within the firm.
Embracing opportunities to work as part of project teams on ad hoc assignments.
Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all work, adhering to company processes and quality standards.

Essential Skills and Experience

Professional Experience: 1-2+years relevant professional work experience
Education: A minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades 9-4 or A-C) including Maths and English, and ideally A-Levels or equivalent.
Interest in Accountancy: Genuine interest in audit and accounts with a focus on progressing through professional qualifications.
Analytical and Numerical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numbers and data.
Communication: Confident verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and build relationships with clients.
Organisation and Time Management: Ability to manage‐time effectively and meet deadlines across multiple assignments.
IT Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; any experience with accounting software is advantageous but not essential.
Teamwork: Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a proactive, flexible approach.

Full study support towards AAT, ACCA or ACA qualifications (depending on prior experience).
