Overview
We are a busy independent family run garage in Boston, Lincolnshire. Looking for an experienced vehicle technician/ MOT Tester to join our team.
The role involves working on a wide range of vehicles carrying out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and MOT testing. We are looking for somebody confident in fault finding and diagnostics who can work efficiently to a high standard.
This is a long-term position, within a friendly, well-established garage with a steady workload and good working environement.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle diagnostics to identify faults and issues
- MOT testing and MOT repairs
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks including brakes, suspension, clutches and timing belts
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and servicing
- Replace worn or damaged parts with precision and care
- Test vehicles post-repair to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Assist in the organisation of workshop areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a good understanding of vehicle systems
- Proficiency in using hand tools
- Experience with power tools relevant to automotive repair tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, handling vehicle components or equipment weighing up to 25kg or more
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to accurately report findings and work progress
Requirements
- Previous experience as a mechanic
- MOT tester licence preferred
- Strong diagnostic and fault finding ability
- Full UK Driving licence

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
