The Laboratory Technician supports the Company’s technical functions by conducting laboratory-based testing, generating accurate data, and contributing to research, development, verification, and validation activities. The role is flexible across multiple technical disciplines and supports product development, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
The role operates within the Research and Development function, recognising that product validation, verification, and compatibility assessment are underpinned by scientific investigation and development of product understanding.
Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Testing: Conduct laboratory testing in line with approved protocols issued by R&D, Validation, and Compatibility Scientists ensuring accurate execution and data generations. Testing includes, but not limited to, compatibility, stability, product validation and packaging tests.
- Research & Development Support: Assist R&D activities and material evaluations.
- Verification & Validation: Execute testing aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Record and analyse data and produce technical reports.
- Cross-functional Support: Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to projects.
- Support multiple technical workstreams, with activities assigned based on business priorities across research, development, validation, and compatibility functions.
- Laboratory Compliance: Maintain GLP and adhere to Health & Safety policies.

Qualifications:
- A qualification in a science discipline. In absence of education, an equivalent amount of work experience within the healthcare/medical device field demonstrating validation and verification skills will be accepted
- PC literate on Microsoft Office programmes Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good written documentation skills
A Day in the Life of a Laboratory Technician at Tristel
A typical day in the life of a laboratory technician at Tristel would be predominately laboratory based.
It would involve carry out Research, validation or compatibility testing in our state of the art laboratory involving test methods related to our exciting and innovative chemistry.
The role may also require preparation of laboratory batches for testing which are prepared according to pre-determined formulations of our proprietary chemistry.
Other activities include data entry from testing carried out and other administrative duties in a dedicated, bright and vibrant office space.
A good degree of communication and collaboration will be involved within an energetic science team.
