Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Plumber/Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and gas systems across commercial and residential properties. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely in various environments. Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and gas systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues with plumbing or gas installations
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete tasks efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment as required for installation or repairs
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems within plumbing and gas systems, applying appropriate solutions
- Carry out assembly of components for new installations or upgrades
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation, including the safe handling of gas appliances
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each project
- Assist with site preparation and clean-up after job completion
Experience
- Proven experience as a plumber or gas engineer in a commercial or residential setting
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, gas regulations, and safety procedures
- Proficiency in welding, using hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to system diagnostics and repairs
- Ability to perform basic maths calculations for measurements and material estimations
- Experience with carpentry tasks related to installation projects is desirable
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving is preferred
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in confined or elevated spaces
