An exciting opportunity to be part of our wonderful team here at The Black Swan inn, we are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking Assistant Manager to help us lead our team. Working closely with all departments, you will be responsible for creating an exciting work atmosphere and leading daily operations to "bring it altogether" ready for service.
The role will include -
- Overseeing daily services - and always leading from the front
- Overseeing our booking systems - assisting with table management & room bookings
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times - leading our team from the front.
- Working closely and communicating with our kitchen, housekeeping and management team at all times
- Team Leadership: Monitoring performance of junior team, implementing consistent training and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety legislation.
- Working a range of shifts - This role is a 48 hour contract, over 5 days per week. Evenings & weekends included.
- Overseeing day to day checklists.
- Opening & closing the building in line with company procedures.
- Handling cash / cashing up at the end of the night.
- Organising staff shifts - managing payroll, rotas & shift covers of junior team where needed.
- Operations & Maintenance: overseeing routine maintenance, event bookings and assisting with the management of suppliers.
- Financial oversight: Manage budgets, track inventory, control costs (labor and beverage), monitor sales, and work alongside the kitchen to plan or update menus.
- Ensure all company policies + procedures are implemented across the board.
- Maintaining safe working conditions for the team + customers
- Implementing appropriate strategies to improve sales
- Promoting and marketing the business.
- Overseeing stock levels and ordering supplies.
- Handling customer enquiries and complaints
Candidates must have -
- Previous supervisory / management experience within the industry.
- Excellent communication & people management skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- Great attention to detail.
- A friendly manner.
- A positive "can do" attitude.
- A willingness to learn - with the potential to progress within the business
- Ability to travel to & from work / have own transport.
- Team player abilities
- A keen interest in food and beverage, extensive knowledge within the industry and ability to deliver on going training to the team.
- Previous food hygiene and compliance training completed - updated & additional training will also be provided via our online training platform for successful candidate.
