Alben Landscapes is looking for a motivated and hands-on Apprentice Grounds Maintenance Fitter mechanic to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with machinery, solving problems, and learning practical engineering skills within the grounds maintenance and landscaping industry.
You’ll work alongside our team, learning how to maintain, repair, and service a wide range of commercial landscaping and grounds maintenance equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Servicing and repairing grounds maintenance machinery and tools
- Assisting with diagnostics and fault finding on equipment
- Preparing machinery for daily operational use
- Carrying out routine maintenance and safety checks
- Cleaning, organising, and maintaining workshop standards
- Learning about engines, hydraulics, electrics, and mechanical systems
- Supporting site breakdowns and emergency repairs when required
- Keeping accurate maintenance and service records
Equipment may include:
- Ride-on and pedestrian mowers
- Strimmers and hedge cutters
- Leaf blowers
- Compact tractors
- Utility vehicles and trailers
- Small plant and landscaping equipment

What We’re Looking For
- A genuine interest in mechanics and machinery
- Practical mindset with good problem-solving skills
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
- Basic understanding of tools or machinery is beneficial but not essential
Desirable
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
