Job Summary

Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese delicacies with precision and artistry
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in all preparation areas according to health regulations
Select fresh ingredients, including fish, rice, vegetables, and seaweed, ensuring quality and freshness at all times
Create visually appealing sushi presentations that excite customers and enhance their dining experience
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy hours while maintaining quality standards
Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency across all dishes
Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and notifying management of supply needs

Experience

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a reputable restaurant or culinary setting
Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices specific to raw seafood handling
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Passion for Japanese cuisine with an eagerness to learn new techniques and trends in sushi artistry
Excellent teamwork skills combined with a positive attitude and strong communication abilities
