We have an exciting ,opportunity for an Accounts Semi Senior to join us at our Totnes office!
We are seeking someone who can assist with a diverse portfolio of clients, focusing on the preparation of accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders. You will be responsible for preparing company and individual tax returns, as well as capital gains calculations. The ideal candidate will be able to complete files independently with minimal supervision and confidently interact with clients.

- Preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts
- Preparation of limited company statutory financial statements from source records
- Maintaining client books and records on a regular basis, including preparation of VAT returns.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns when required
- Preparing corporation tax computation calculations and basic tax planning
- On site visits to clients
- Provide accurate advice and support to clients dealing with any queries relating to their accounts
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Bookkeeping activities
- Liaise with HMRC where needed
- Preparation of management accounts
- Liaising with clients, answering queries, and providing relevant information where requested.
- Performance of tasks in an organised, accurate and timely manner.
- Providing assistance to trainees and supervising junior colleagues, supporting them with any queries they have relating to their work
- Supporting and communicating with your managers on all tasks assigned
- Daily completion of timesheet
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent, with 4 years practice experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and accounts production software like CCH.
- Ability to show initiative and work effectively within a team
- Ability to build good client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with people at various levels
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage own workload in a timely manner while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations
- AAT qualified or equivalent level of experience
