Overview

We are seeking a Semi-skilled Mechanic specialising in Vehicle Restoration to join our team. This role involves assisting with the refurbishment and repair of vintage and classic vehicles, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess a keen interest in vehicle mechanics, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in vehicle restoration, perfect for those looking to develop their skills within the automotive industry.

Duties

Assist with disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of vehicle components to identify repair needs
Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs, replacements, and restorations on various vehicle parts
Perform basic mechanical tasks such as engine tuning, brake repairs, and suspension work under supervision
Support the team in heavy lifting tasks involving vehicle parts or assemblies to ensure efficient workflow
Maintain organisation of tools and work area to promote safety and productivity
Follow safety protocols at all times during restoration activities
Document work progress and report any issues to senior technicians for further action

Skills

Basic mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle systems and components
Proficiency in using hand tools
Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and sanders is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively as part of routine tasks
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and techniques related to vehicle restoration
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
