About the role
We're looking for a practical, reliable and enthusiastic groundskeeper and maintenance assistant to help maintain our unique holiday accommodation and surrounding grounds at Upper Grove Farm.
This varied role combines gardening, general grounds maintenance and hands-on property maintenance to ensure our railway carriage accommodation is presented to the highest standard for our guests.
There is also the opportunity to assist with work in our vineyard throughout the growing season, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys working outdoors and taking pride in a well-maintained environment.
Key responsibilities
- Maintaining the gardens, lawns and planted areas across the site
- Moving grass, strimming, weeding, pruning and hedge cutting
- Keeping paths, outdoor seating areas and communal spaces clean, tidy and safe
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs to our holiday cabins
- Responding to ad-hoc maintenance issues as they arise
- Assisting with routine property checks and preventative maintenance
- Supporting seasonal vineyard work, including vine maintenance and other tasks throughout the year (training can be provided)
- Helping maintain a safe, welcoming and attractive environment for our guests
- This role may involve assisting with maintenance at related sites on an ad -hoc basis, travel costs would be reimbursed as applicable
What we're looking for
- A practical, hands-on individual with good problem-solving skills
- Experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, property maintenance or a similar role is desirable
- Confident using a range of gardening tools and equipment
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- Reliable, self-motivated and takes pride in producing high-quality work
- A willingness to learn new skills and support different aspects of the business as needed
- A full, valid UK driving licence is essential
