We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and skilled Applied Psychologist to join our Psychologically Informed Partnership Approach (PIPA) service working in the Scarborough hub.
You will work within a supportive team of colleagues who are able to access supervision and training. PIPA is a large, well established multi-disciplinary team who provide a psychological and trauma informed service to vulnerable and care experienced children and young people, up to the age of 25, as well as their families, carers and the staff who work with them. PIPA brings psychologically informed ideas and ways of working to children's social care, where clinicians are highly valued in their embedded roles across safeguarding, looked after, children's residential, fostering and leaving care teams. The service consists of Psychologists and Advanced Practitioners who provide direct work, consultation and training both face to face and remotely.

Provides highly specialist psychological assessment of young people with highly complex conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources.
Responsible for recognising the potential for or signs of harm, abuse or neglect, including poor clinical practice, reporting all such concerns and taking all reasonable steps to protect the client. Responsible for identifying and reporting concerns regarding the safeguarding of children who may be at risk.
Undertakes risk assessment and risk management for young people and provides specialist advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
Formulates plans for highly specialist psychological therapy and/or management of clients' mental health conditions based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based practice. Negotiates the implementation of such plans with young people and the residential team.
Implements a range of highly specialist psychological therapies for individuals, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as required.
Undertakes highly skilled evaluations and makes decisions about care and support options. Provides highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other staff contributing directly to young people's diagnosis, formulation and intervention plan.

- Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
- Post doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainees
- Trained in care co-ordination
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience working with mental health
