Full job description

Care Assistant (Please note, we do not provide visa sponsorship)

Hours: 7-hour DAY Shifts or long day shift | Flexible rota
Location: Scone, Perth
Pay: Weekly Pay

About Us

We are a small, 17-bed, not-for-profit care home on the edge of Perth. Resident wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and we actively involve residents, families, and staff in decision-making. Strong community links help our residents remain active, engaged, and connected beyond the home.

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents, promoting their dignity, independence, comfort, and wellbeing while ensuring a safe and caring environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Support residents with eating and drinking, ensuring nutritional and hydration needs are met.
Assist residents with daily activities and encourage independence wherever possible.
Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues.
Monitor residents' physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate care records and complete documentation as required.
Follow individual care plans and contribute to their review and development.
Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
Support residents in social, recreational, and community activities.
Adhere to safeguarding procedures and report any concerns regarding abuse or neglect.
Comply with health and safety regulations, infection prevention and control procedures, and moving and handling guidelines.
Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and communicate professionally with healthcare professionals and family members.
Attend mandatory training and participate in continuous professional development.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

Compassionate, caring, and patient nature.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful of confidentiality.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.

The home is located on an excellent bus route, with weekend transport support available outside bus hours.
