Job title: Process Group Facilitator

Organisation: Edinburgh Centre for Psychodynamic Therapy (ECPT)

Start Date: Wednesday 9th September 2026 (with August team meeting and induction)
Contract Type: Self-employed
Fee: £70 per hour (delivery); £20 per hour (meetings)
Location: 2nd floor, 86-92 Causewayside, EH9 1PY Edinburgh

Interviews: Week commencing Monday 8th and Monday 15th June 2026

ECPT is seeking an experienced Process Group Facilitator to join the faculty of its qualifying 2-year training in Existential Psychodynamic Therapy.

This role involves facilitating a weekly experiential process group for trainees at the end of each teaching day, providing a contained space to process clinical training, explore emotional responses, and engage with group dynamics.

The facilitator will be expected to commit to the full duration of the cohort (2 academic years).

Teaching Schedule for the Process Groups

Wednesdays, 4:00–5:00pm
14-week teaching blocks:
September–December
February–May
In-person delivery at ECPT’s Edinburgh premises

Role Overview

You will facilitate a weekly, experiential process group that supports trainees in:

Reflecting on their internal responses to the training from a psychodynamic and existential perspective
Engaging with interpersonal and group dynamics and increasing self-awareness

Requirements

Psychodynamic training (essential)
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, or 2 years facilitating groups in training settings
Demonstrable experience facilitating therapy or process groups
Accredited, or working towards accreditation, with a recognised professional body (e.g. BACP, UKCP, NCPS)
Current PVG membership (or willingness to obtain)
Professional indemnity insurance

A qualification or training in group analysis is desirable.

Additional Information

Attendance at team meetings (paid at £20/hour) is required, usually 2 x 1h meetings per Module
Opportunity to claim supervision hours (approx. 2 hours per module)
Induction and initial team meeting will take place in August 2026
