The role:
Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Crisis Practitioner and make a real difference to individuals experiencing acute mental health crises within the community. Working as part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary Crisis Team, you will provide rapid, compassionate support that helps people remain safely at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.

You will play a key part in assessment, intervention and recovery-focused care, helping individuals and families during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Duration: Permanent
Base Location: North East Area, Glasgow
Hours: 36 Hours (Full Time)
Working Pattern: (Mon-Friday 9-5, 9-4:30 or 12-8 Sat/Sun 9-5)
Key responsibilities:

Undertake comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of care for individuals experiencing mental health crisis

Deliver intensive home treatment and support to reduce hospital admissions and facilitate early discharge

Build therapeutic relationships with service users and carers based on dignity, respect and person-centred care

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to coordinate effective care pathways

Identify and manage clinical risk, including responding to emergency or high-risk situations appropriately

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards

Support students and junior staff through supervision, mentoring and role modelling best practice
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Registered Mental Health Nurse with valid NMC registration

Post-registration experience within mental health services, ideally in a community or crisis setting

Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and reflective practice

Sound knowledge of mental health legislation, policy and ethical frameworks

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and complex situations

Ability to work independently and make informed clinical decisions under pressure

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across community settings
