Discovery Flexibles Limited, based in Dundee, is Scotland’s leading flexible packaging converter supplying customers within the food, pharmaceutical and pet food industries. We have consistently set ourselves apart from our competitors in the flexible packaging market by developing and improving on material specifications, ink usage and, more recently, developing compostable and more sustainable packaging solutions. We are currently recruiting for an Ink Store Technician.
Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment would be advantageous but full training will be provided. A forklift license is required for this role. The candidate will also have to complete a colourblind test.
Job Role –
· Prepare and issue supply of inks to printing press for production.
· Use of lab sized colour proofing press for colour matching.
· Use Electronic Ink Formulation System (IFS) to achieve colour target pass to industry standard.
· Assist the printers on press with any colour alterations that may be required throughout the production run to keep the colour targets in specification.
· Collect and scan in press returns using Ink Formulation System (IFS) to maximise re use of thin ink before the issue of fresh ink to press.
· Ensure 24 hours supply of IFS matched ink is ready for production.
· Assist ink store manager as and when required.
· Use of X-Rite and IFS preferred but full training will be provided.
The candidate will be required to operate in line with health and safety, environmental and quality standards.
This job role is Monday to Friday and 36 hours per week. Training will be provided on a day shift rota and once completed you will move to a double day shift rotation.
Pay: From £13.32 per hour
