The role:
As an Advanced Speech & Language Therapist within NHSGGC, you will play a vital role in delivering highly specialist neuro-rehabilitation to adults across community settings, helping individuals maximise their communication, swallowing, and overall quality of life. Working as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will manage a complex caseload with autonomy while contributing to innovative, person-centred care. Key responsibilities:
- Deliver highly specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention for adults with complex communication and swallowing difficulties

Independently manage a complex caseload, taking responsibility for clinical decision making, care planning and discharge
-
Provide expert advice, training and support to multidisciplinary team members, carers and partner agencies
-
Lead and contribute to service development, audit activity and implementation of evidence-based practice
-
Act as a key worker, coordinating interdisciplinary care and supporting effective rehabilitation pathways
-
Supervise and support junior staff, assistants and students, promoting learning and professional development
-
Maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to data collection and ensure compliance with professional and organisational standards
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent with HCPC registration and RCSLT membership

Significant postgraduate experience including advanced level knowledge in dysphagia and neuro-rehabilitation

Evidence of specialist training, continued professional development and application of evidence-based practice

Demonstrable experience managing complex cases and working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team

Proven experience of supervision, teaching and supporting development of others

Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards and multi-agency working practices
