The Opportunity
This project offers the chance to:
- Craft a compelling documentary narrative about the Community Woodland project, celebrating the contributions made by local volunteers and school pupils that will highlight the benefits to the community, environment and local economy. The media will be crafted with editorial steer from the Applecross Community Company Team and the Community Woodland Steering Group to align with our messaging and promotional goals.
- Complete a series of vlogs which are complimentary to the Documentary and are released on a monthly basis
- Train and support volunteers to actively contribute to the Project, potentially as media makers, technical contributors, and presenters – as well as subjects, story-tellers, interviewees etc.
- Work collaboratively with identified project partners, interest groups and participants (e.g. the Applecross Heritage Centre, Applecross Archaeology Association, Gaelic interpretation developers, Applecross Primary School, Volunteers, etc.)
- In addition to the production of a high-quality film about the project the appointee will be able to contribute to the wider digital strategies under development, helping the ACC to refine best practice use of digital media.
- Assist with the development of a 12 month digital media work-plan with the ACC team to manage their phased input and help the Project meet all its media production targets, including news and events coverage and production of themed monthly vlogs.
- Develop effective approaches for the completed Film’s launch, publication and distribution and contribute to plans for the sustainability of the Project long-term and its continuing media presence beyond the funded phase.
- Alongside producing high-quality film outputs, you will help build local creative capacity, supporting community members to become contributors and storytellers in their own right.
