We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Ardene House Veterinary Hospital on a full-time, 12-month contract.
Our purpose-built hospital, based on the outskirts of Kingswells, Aberdeen, provides small animal, equine, and farm animal veterinary services. We also have a branch practice in Bridge of Don, offering convenient companion animal care to the local community.
Our team includes certificate holders in surgery and medicine, alongside visiting specialists in cardiology, dermatology, and pain management. We have also welcomed Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals, providing advanced orthopaedic and internal medicine services within our hospital.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first-opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Working Pattern
- Monday - Friday with shifts between 7:30am and 7:30pm
- 1 in 5 Saturdays, paid as overtime
- No out-of-hours responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Assist Veterinary Surgeons with surgical and non-surgical procedures
- Provide high standards of inpatient care, supported by a dedicated kennel nurse each day
- Support patient workups including x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and CT scans
- Monitor anaesthesia and provide peri-operative nursing care
- Carry out dental procedures, including scale and polish and dental x-rays
- Assist with laparoscopic and orthopaedic procedures
- Run nurse clinics and provide preventative healthcare advice
We’re looking for a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and delivering high standards of care. You’ll bring:
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
