Self-Employed Removal Driver – Furniture, Home & Office Moves
UrbanMove Logistics Ltd is looking for reliable and professional self-employed Removal Drivers to support our growing demand for home, office, and furniture moves.
This is a flexible, self-employed opportunity ideal for drivers who want control over their schedule while earning competitive hourly rates.
Role Overview:
As a self-employed driver, you will be responsible for completing removal jobs, ensuring items are transported safely, and delivering excellent customer service. You may work independently or as part of a team depending on the size of the move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport furniture, household, and office items between locations.
- Load and unload items with care to prevent damage.
- Assist with basic packing, wrapping, and protection of goods where required.
- Complete jobs efficiently within scheduled timeframes.
- Communicate with customers and the UrbanMove operations team.
- Carry out vehicle checks and ensure roadworthiness at all times.
- Follow manual handling and health & safety best practices.
- Represent the UrbanMove brand professionally at all times.
Requirements:
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Unique Tax Reference Letter
- DBS or PVG
- DVLA check code
- Previous removals, delivery, or logistics experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good time management and reliability.
- Access to a smartphone for job updates/navigation.
Vehicle Options:
- Use of Company Van: Available (insurance and diesel provided).
- Owner Drivers Welcome: Must provide own van and valid insurance.
Pay Structure (Self-Employed):
- £13.00 per hour – when using a company van (insurance included).
- Up to £17.57 per hour – for owner drivers with their own van and insurance.
- Payments are made based on completed jobs/hours worked.
- Opportunity to increase earnings through availability and consistency.
Working Flexibility:
- Operates Monday to Sunday.
- Choose your own working days (subject to demand).
- Part-time and full-time availability welcome.
- Jobs are typically scheduled during daytime hours.
Important Information:
- This is a self-employed (independent contractor) role, not an employed position.
- Drivers are responsible for their own tax, National Insurance, and (where applicable) insurance if using their own vehicle.
